The skin profile. A pimple (or two, come on!) on a regular basis is a sign of mild acne. It appears on combination to oily skin. In question ? Most often, it's hereditary (even if you don't necessarily have skin identical to that of your parents). But it can also be a slight hormonal imbalance and/or ill-suited contraception that lead to hyperseborrhoea (=excess sebum produced, which makes the skin shine) and then to pimples.
The treatment. In the case of mild acne, ask your pharmacist for advice and do not hesitate to consult a dermatologist:you go there as soon as you feel any discomfort. As a rule, local treatment is sufficient. To eliminate blackheads and whiteheads, also called micro-cysts, the skin is cleaned by the dermatologist and, at home, creams with keratolytic active ingredients (retinoids, fruit acids or salicylic acid) are used, the dosage of which varies depending on the number of buttons. For inflammatory lesions (red pimples), we opt for formulas with low doses of benzoyl peroxide (which reduces excess sebum and has an antibacterial action), available without a prescription, or antibiotics in gel or lotion (we ask advice to the pharmacist). Good to know:it takes three to six months to see results.
The skincare routine. We think of cleaning the skin well every evening with a foaming gel for combination or oily skin or a dermatological bar. And we moisturize it, especially if it is dried out by a treatment:in the morning with a mattifying cream, tinted or not (formulated with zinc or absorbent powders) or an active anti-acne treatment, and in the evening with a special skin treatment. mixed. Good point for the drying sticks:these SOS treatments are super concentrated and apply only to the pimple (nascent or already present). Generally, it only takes 2 or 3 days for the blemish to go away (but it can come back because acne is a chronic condition).
