We are Aurélie, Yasmine and Sofia, the 3 co-founders of Rive Droite, a brand of unisex bags and accessories designed for today's urban tribes, made in from recycled and upcycled materials by designers in precarious situations, whom we help to become independent and create their micro-enterprise.
We launched Rive Droite in 2016 initially to be in line with our personal values:to work and to want to have, at our level, a positive impact on the world in which we live. With Rive Droite we really want to show that we can combine business and ethics, eco-design and fair-trade. And help make sustainability the new fashion standard.
A beautiful woman for us is a fulfilled woman, who accepts herself as she is. She is obviously not a woman who meets some absurd beauty criterion imposed by this industry or this magazine, but it is an attitude that radiates benevolently on others.
We've never really asked ourselves this question, to tell the truth, but let's say a committed &ambitious woman, who believes as much in the strength of the collective as in her own abilities. An honest woman also who admits that reconciling an intense professional life, a happy family life and the life of a woman who feels good about herself is really far from easy, but it does not matter if sometimes it is a little mess.
We don't necessarily have a unique female model. Of course there are the historic "Simone" (S. de Beauvoir and S. Veil) who have marked the history of women forever.
But today our female model is rather that of a movement that is gaining momentum, that of the benevolent sorority that emerges between women via women's networks in particular ( like that of Band Of Sisters to which we belong and which brings us a wealth of crazy exchanges with other creative, committed, entrepreneurial women:https://bandofsistersparis.com/ ), or via women who carry this sorority within them such as Nathalie Rozborski, CEO of Nelly Rodi, the consulting agency specializing in the creative industries, who has the immense generosity to spread it around her.
We borrow this sentence from Delphine Plisson, the founder of Maison Plisson:“Everything is gonna be ok at the end, if it’s not ok, it’s not the end”. We find it just as a mantra because it's true, we can not succeed from the 1 st blow, and it does not matter. The main thing is to get there, you always get there, even if the way to get there is sometimes different from what you had planned.
Dare!! If you want to get started on a project, go! No impostor syndrome, get started. Raise your own barriers! At worst, it doesn't work and so what? You will bounce back for sure. At best, you may realize your dream, it's worth it, right?
