”My name is Moute, I am 36 years old and I am the founder of Savon Stories, a soap making and skincare workshop based in Provence and London. I grew up with my grandfather on his farm until my family decided to immigrate to France. At the age of 23 I decided to leave to study in England and it was in London that Savon Stories was born.”
”It all started when my grandfather died in 2008. It was a very difficult ordeal for me. But very quickly I found myself remembering our time spent together and all the things I learned at his side about nature and plants. Also living simply, the importance of generosity, and the preservation of traditions. One thing leading to another, and a bit like a defense mechanism, I immersed myself in training and soap making to relive my memories with him.
Naturally, I needed space, so I set up my basement as a workshop. I had absolutely no intention at this point of starting a business. I just had an uncontrollable urge to make and create. This space eventually became the first Savon Stories workshop. When the business opportunity came to mind, I decided to create something that would communicate the tradition of French artisanal soapmaking but dressed in a more traditional English aesthetic. Like the use of watercolors in our packaging. With growing customer demand, it didn't take me long to realize how much there was a need for purist organic soaps and skincare. “
