7 x Formal Fashion Faux Pas to Avoid

When it comes to faux pas, no matter how much we think we know, we all make fashion mistakes, dismissing it as our own style. While that's totally fine, there are certain things that can't be ignored when it comes to rules. Here are 7 fashion faux pas you should avoid.

Too revealing
Clothes may technically cover you, but can sometimes reveal too much. Try to avoid tops that reveal too much cleavage, in summer as well as in winter. It's best to look stylish and show off certain parts without making everything stand out, especially in corporate settings. Also, be sure to choose clothes that will keep you covered while your best parts come out.

Too ordinary
While this is not a regular occurrence in the colder months, a common mistake in summer temperatures is wearing clothes that are too casual for formal settings. Sleeveless tops are probably acceptable at work as long as your bra isn't showing. If a top shows too much body, wear a cardigan or blazer over it.

Too torn
Another common mistake people make is wearing worn and torn clothes. Yes, it's okay to wear ripped jeans to a concert or casual event. However, it is not a good idea to wear it to work or a formal event.

Too big or too small
The wrong size is never right, wherever you go. Clothes that are too big won't hide your curves; it makes it worse. Clothing that is too small can cause your muffin top to show through. When buying clothes, the size on the label does not matter. You are beautiful no matter your size, but knowing and wearing what fits you is much more attractive than trying to go down a size or hide something under bulky clothes.

Too many logos
Wearing clothing with a logo on it makes you look like a walking billboard. While logos were in in the 90s, lately trends have changed, and people are moving away from flashy logos and looking for something more understated.

Too many animal prints
If animal prints are your thing, you can still wear them. But too much of it is never good. It's just hard to combine these prints and it can make you look rather raunchy. However, if you're feeling adventurous, a pretty animal print blouse, for example, can look great with black pants.

Too many layers
Too many layers is a mistake at various points, in any season. Trying to hide unappealing areas with extra layers can actually make it worse. For example, a skirt worn over leggings or a mini dress with jeans won't hide anything; it can actually make things worse.
