Working from home during the global pandemic can be so stressful and it can affect your health and skin. Although the current situation has its drawbacks, it also has a positive point:everyone now has much more time to spare! While it's no competition to emerge from quarantine as the strongest, fittest and healthiest, it does create an opportunity to give your skin some extra love. After all, who doesn't want a fresh and radiant complexion. We've got some helpful tips and tricks here to get rid of those stress-related pimples, wrinkles, and general problematic skin problems from your face and replace them with a vibrant complexion instead.
Try a facial at home
If your skin is flaring up from stress, there's nothing better than a soothing facial to soothe your skin. You can now book a relaxing treatment in the spa, but giving yourself a facial is also relaxing. Clean your skin well, exfoliate your skin and put on a face mask. It's like being at the spa, except you're safe in the comfort of your own bathroom!
Get enough sleep
Sleep deprivation not only creates dark circles around your eyes, it can also lead to premature aging, puffiness, dullness and inflammation. Our skin uses sleep to restore moisture and shed dead skin cells. If you don't get enough sleep, your skin can lose its natural "shine" and existing skin conditions can get worse. Before going to sleep, apply a night mask. An overnight mask can help strengthen and rejuvenate the skin, making it appear younger and more radiant. This means that you wake up refreshed every time after use. Also, make sure to get at least 7-9 hours of sleep every night to wake up looking as fresh as Sleeping Beauty.
Take a break from work
Step away from your desk at home and take a break! If you don't have Zoom meetings in the morning, take advantage of the fact that no one can see you and pamper your skin. Remember:once the clock hits 5pm, you're done! It's easy to make the mistake of letting work time leak into your downtime. It's totally understandable, work and play are in the same space now, but remember once you're done working, YOU GO AWAY FROM THAT LAPTOP.
Avoid junk food
Everyone finds it hard to stay away from foods that aren't necessarily the best for us, especially now that we're all VERY close to the kitchen cabinets, all day, every day. Unfortunately, junk food is never good for our bodies, including the skin. Stay away from fried and processed foods, as well as too much sugar. If your skin suddenly flares up with breakouts, it might be time to look at your diet. Don't forget to hydrate and drink water.
Say goodbye to wrinkles!
Soothe those facial muscles. Normal daily stress can leave permanent worrying lines on our faces, so imagine how those lines are developing right now! Try to relax your facial muscles as often as possible. And massage your skin. By putting a mirror next to your laptop, every time you catch yourself frowning at the screen, you can remind yourself to stop!
