We have all already watched a tutorial on the internet to find a hairstyle that takes your breath away. The only concern for African-American women with curly hair:the absence of a place or event to discuss it. This is how the Curlyfest festival was born, imagined by the Curly Girl collective foundation, a marketing group specializing in multicultural beauty. Women on the net creating the same type of beauty videos decided one day to meet. The idea of the collective was obvious and immediate for them. Their concept is the creation of innovative experiences to enhance natural hair and present the best possible brands for modern women.
More than 20,000 people attended this first edition, a record for an event full of colors and love. On the program, live hairstyle demonstrations, many activities with games and also many gifts thanks to partner brands such as Creme of Nature, EDEN BodyWorks, DevaCurl.
The festival caused a sensation in New York, where many women with curly hair had the opportunity to feel supported and cared for. A strong message was conveyed by the community present that day:"It's more about confidence and self-love and more about passing on to children that is important ... than the way your hair grows" .
If you too are fed up with straightening irons, say bye bye without complex...Who knows maybe one day Curlyfest will come to France?
