This clay from Morocco is used a lot in cosmetics for its cleansing properties notably. A real Swiss army knife, it can be used in various ways, for hair or face care. Focus on Rhassoul clay, which will make you empty your bathroom cupboards!
Containing no surfactant, rhassoul (or ghassoul) will cleanse without attacking the protective film of the skin or the hair fiber, making it the ideal ally for sensitive skin! Also rich in micronutrients, it deeply repairs and nourishes. A real magic wand… when you know the secrets of its use!
As mentioned above, this clay has descaling, absorbing and purifying properties which make it a "magnet" for grease, toxins and impurities.
Rhassoul has exfoliating properties . Thanks to its slightly grainy texture, it is a clay of choice for gently exfoliating the body and face that will leave the skin purified. It therefore promotes cell renewal.
Rhassoul clay regulates excess sebum, which makes it a real ally for combination to oily skin. This clay does not attack the sebaceous glands and therefore does not contribute to make it greasy. It is also suitable for sensitive skin as it works very gently.
It is therefore suitable for all skin types but is more suitable for oily to combination, sensitive and reactive skin or with imperfections. However, if you buy ready-made care products based on this clay, check that it is suitable for your skin type and that it does not contain ingredients that would attack it.
In addition to its properties for the skin, this clay is also excellent in hair care since it purifies the scalp. Thanks to its absorbent action, it rids the scalp of excess sebum and impurities without irritating it. It also adds volume to your hair.
Ghassoul will benefit oily hair, even if you have a sensitive scalp. It is particularly effective against dandruff .
It will be perfect for fine hair since it will restore volume.
It replaces many hair and body care products, effectively and ecologically . Here are the different ways to use it in cosmetic care.
Mix the rhassoul clay with lukewarm water until you obtain a smooth paste. Apply the mixture in the shower on damp hair, ending with a massage at the root for an optimal purifying action. Leave the mixture on while you cleanse your body, then rinse. In addition to being clean, the hair is sheathed from the root for a wahoo volume!
Top tip:due to its absorbent properties, rhassoul can tend to dry out the hair. For problems such as "oily roots with dry ends", the best option will therefore be that of "multimasking":the oily roots will be cleaned and purified thanks to the rhassoul, and the dry lengths hydrated with a nourishing vegetable oil (for example avocado oil, castor oil or coconut oil).
A great tip for those who are short on time or who would like to space out their shampoos! Apply the powder to the hairline using a brush. Leave on for a few minutes then brush until the small residue disappears:voila!
Mixed with other active ingredients, rhassoul will prove to be an excellent base in the preparation of your hair masks. The ideal combo for a personalized treatment:Rhassoul + mineral water or hydrosol (for example bamboo hydrosol or aromatic nettle hydrosol or olive leaf hydrosol) + vegetable oil (for example coconut or castor oil) and/or essential oil (ylang ylang essential oil for hair shine) + aloe vera (optional).
Prepare your mask with the ingredients of your choice to meet the needs of your hair. Then apply the mask all over the hair and leave for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse.
Its powder texture is ideal for use as an exfoliant. And for that, nothing could be simpler:mix in the palm of your hand a little powder with water or a hydrosol of your choice (for example organic green tea hydrosol or wild carrot hydrosol). Gently massage the mixture into your face, paying particular attention to blemish-prone areas.
Mixed with other active ingredients, rhassoul is an excellent base in the preparation of your face masks (and yes, too!). The ideal combo for a personalized treatment:Rhassoul + hydrosol + essential oil of your choice (be careful not to dose too much according to the essential oils) + aloe vera (optional).
Prepare your mask with the ingredients of your choice to meet the needs of your skin. Then apply the mask with a brush to the entire face and leave on. Be careful not to let the mask dry on the face at the risk of it drying out your skin too much. The ideal is to moisten your face regularly by spraying your favorite hydrosol!
The instructions for using rhassoul clay as a body soap is certainly the simplest. In the shower, mix in the palm of your hand a little powder with water, and rub your body as you are used to with conventional soap. The skin is cleansed and smoothed, for a velvet touch!
