I shrug. She is somewhat right, I usually go my own way and am not that aware of the latest fashion. Later that day I am in the schoolyard. Suddenly I notice that many mothers wear trendy sneakers. Under jeans, but also under dresses or those nice long skirts. I am hopelessly behind. As usual. But to immediately purchase a pair of expensive sneakers to fit in, I think that is going a step too far.
Fortunately, I came across a cheaper solution. Sneakers from Twinkeltje. In all kinds of colors and models. Friendly priced, so that I can try out whether a pair of sneakers also fit under my dresses. Although I really like the bright pink sneakers, I still go safe and order a pair of black ones. The box will be delivered the next day. My daughter is there like the chickens. “Pretty cool”, is her reaction when I unpack the shoes. ah! Who knows, maybe it will turn out to be something with those sneakers for mom!
I wear them at Easter. I combine them with my yellow skirt. "The sneakers are cool mom, but I don't like that skirt." It's never right! They look great under my jeans. I just have to get used to the flat feeling when walking. But now I belong in the schoolyard 😉 .
