When my skin ages

It would be truer to say that when we age, our skin simply gets older too. It's normal, but this evolution will depend on several criteria, including our lifestyle and the way we take care (or not) of our skin.

We must therefore take into account, in addition to

the age of our skin the following factors:

  • UV exposure
  • Pollution
  • Poor diet
  • Tobacco and alcohol

The normal aging of our skin is based on different criteria:oxidative stress, cell proliferation, and hormonal activity, especially in women.

These three factors lead to different


  • Thickness of thinning skin.
  • Tendency to dehydration or dryness:drier and rougher
  • Slower healing issues
  • Vasculature issues:paler skin, capillary fragility, and poorer temperature regulation.

This skin aging begins from the age of 25.

In the case of the natural production of collagen for example, it would decrease by 1% per year from this age.

The first wrinkles will appear around the age of 30 and settle down little by little, especially expression wrinkles.

The installation of wrinkles is due to the loss of elasticity of the skin.

If the aging of our skin is inexorable, it is however possible to slow it down.

First of all by playing on the external factors by not exposing yourself (too much) to the sun.

You also need to have a good balance in life:balanced diet, no tobacco or alcohol. Also watch out for stress and lack of sleep.

Eat a diet rich in antioxidants, fruits and vegetables.

From a cosmetics point of view, having a good moisturizing routine is essential.

From the age of 25, include vitamin C in your creams:it will protect it from external aggressions.

Favor essential fatty acids:omega 3 and 6 for example with oil of argan, rosehip, evening primrose, prickly pear... and natural antioxidants.

Bet everything on vitamins E, C and A.

Which treatments to choose?
