Konjac, what a funny beast?

Konjac is a surprising food. The root of this plant, Amorphophallus Konjac is an exceptional slimming food with medicinal properties. It promotes weight loss, digestion and detoxifies the body. In addition, it also helps fight diabetes and bad cholesterol.

This root, which grows in forests in Vietnam, China, Indonesia, South Korea and Japan, is particularly appreciated by the Japanese for its slimming and medicinal properties. Transformed into blocks (konnyaku) or vermicelli (shiratakis), it has been cooked for more than 2000 years. Konjac is also found as a dietary supplement.

But what's the deal with cosmetics then?

Well the paste obtained with the Konjac root is molded and mixed with water to obtain the Konjac sponge, which has its place in your bathroom. It can be enriched with clays or plants to enhance its benefits depending on your skin type.

For some, the konjac sponge is the ultimate for gentle facial cleansing, much softer than sea sponges, to be found in any self-respecting bathroom! Some of its many qualities:

• 100% natural, it is composed only of vegetable fibres,

• Totally natural, it is completely biodegradable,

• Coming from roots, this type of sponge is of course free of parabens or chemicals harmful to the skin or our body.

Originally white in color, it has been enriched with various other actives to treat the most common skin problems. It is suitable for all skin types which can now take advantage of all its qualities. Some are supplemented with clays depending on the problems of your skin.

In larger sizes, konjac sponges for the body now exist to allow you to wash your body gently. It allows a gentle exfoliation. In addition, used regularly in gentle massage, it will stimulate blood circulation, thus accelerating the cell regeneration process.
