The use of facial care is not always very simple:routines are more and more elaborate with many products, daily from essence to cream, through serum and eye contour, but also masks, scrubs and other detox oils. And once we have found the products that suit us, there remains an essential question:how much should we use? Indeed, if you put too little, you risk not seeing its effects too little, and if you use too much, not only do you waste (which is a shame when you use an expensive product) but in addition, you take the risk of seeing the skin react because it is exposed to too many active ingredients (redness, irritation, excess sebum, etc.).
The Well+Good website asked Park Avenue Skin Solutions brand founder Lauren Abramowitz who offers these general rules:
– Serum:the equivalent of a pea for the face;
– Moisturizing treatment:the equivalent of a 5 cent coin for the face, a little more if you also moisturize the neck (which you have to do!);
– Eye contour:the equivalent of a pea for both eyes;
– Mask:enough product to cover the face, in a thin or thick layer, according to the product instructions (rather thick if left on overnight, thin if rinsed off and/or left on 10/15 minutes);
– Facial cleanser:the equivalent of a 5 cent coin in the palm of your hand;
– Exfoliating:the equivalent of a 1 cent coin in the palm of the hand.
Of course, these rules should not replace the instructions indicated on the packaging of the product (if there are any) and should be modulated according to the type of skin (dry skin will "drink" a nourishing mask faster than combination skin) and face size.
