Program Amsterdam Fashion Week

Amsterdam Fashion Week has announced the program of the upcoming September edition. This edition will take place from 1 to 4 September with young talent and established names in various places in Amsterdam and beyond. The opening night is for the internationally successful fashion brand Wandler.

PROGRAMME

Wednesday 1 September
On Wednesday, AFW will kick off with the leading designer duo Schepers Bosman with a show in the Council Chamber of hotel The Grand in Amsterdam. They present their overview collection in collaboration with artists from the Amsterdam label Bloomer Records. Wandler's collection presentation will take place on the opening night.

Thursday September 2 Thursday starts with a statement by couture designer Ronald van der Kemp. After his high-profile 'mind vaccine' presentation in July during the Paris couture week, he will again show during AFW that trash can be made treasures. Batavia Stad Fashion Outlet is celebrating its 20th anniversary with an exhibition in Amsterdam called 'H20RA! Trade for Charity' in which twenty Dutch designers create a unique look with twenty established brands from Batavia Stad. The exhibition will be launched during AFW and the looks will then be visible in Batavia Stad, where they will be used for a good cause. After that, high-end streetwear label jenneskens returns to AFW with a 360 experience show on the industrial estate of Amsterdam Sloterdijk. In the evening we travel to the Kröller-Müller Museum in Arnhem where Humanoid is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a presentation of specially made looks inspired by the Humanoid archive.

Friday 3 September
On Friday, this edition of Duran Lantink is also on the program. It goes without saying that AFW, in collaboration with the Meester Koetsier Foundation, is once again offering a place for Lichting, where the fourteen best graduates from the seven Dutch fashion academies present their work to professionals and the press. The winner of Lichting 2021 will win €10,000 and their own show during the next edition of Amsterdam Fashion Week. AFW returns to Capital C for this performance, where REconstruct's 'REligion' show can also be seen in collaboration with Bud.

Saturday 4 September On Saturday, the Belgian couture house NATAN will show its latest SS22 collection at Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal. The young Armenian-Dutch designer Wannes Akop makes his show debut at AFW with a salon presentation of his SS22 collection in hotel De L'Europe. In the evening Bodil Ouédraogo returns with a live setting and a capsule collection in collaboration with Patta. The work connects themes such as Afro Modernism, West African couture and African diaspora streetwear from a personal context.

THE HUB &FOUR AMSTERDAM

On Thursday and Friday, at Stadhouderskade 85 in the building of The Collection Amsterdam, you will find 'The HUB'. Fashion, art and design brands can be found in this concept store, there is room for the press in the 'Press Room powered by Logitech', the new sustainable platform Fairbee is present and a glass of champagne can be bought at the Moët&Chandon bar. Fairbee offers a new platform for a conscious lifestyle and will launch its platform on Saturday 4 September.

On Saturdays, the FOUR Amsterdam store at Van Baerlestraat 9-11 is the central place for customizing sneakers/clothing and the new AFW merchandise is for sale. The HUB and FOUR Amsterdam are both accessible to consumers.

During the upcoming edition, AFW will once again launch a series of podcasts.
