Modest Fashion Week is a Global event series that brings Modest Fashion to a different metropolis each time. After Istanbul, Jakarta, London and Dubai, it is Amsterdam's turn. The Amsterdam Modest Fashion Week – from 14 to 16 December 2019 – offers fashion shows, talk shows, workshops and stands full of fashion from designers and brands from 20 countries.
Modest fashion trend
What is modest fashion? You could say:more covered with a longer hem and flowing loosely around the body. It's an option for many women who feel that beauty doesn't always mean exposing your body. The Olsen twins, known from the American television series Full House, gave the fashion trend a significant boost. But modest fashion goes back centuries and exists in different parts of the world.
Amsterdam
The Modest Fashion Week is an international initiative that has settled in various cities in recent years. The choice for Amsterdam is not a coincidence. It is a diverse, multicultural and tolerant city. Amsterdam has sustainable values that match our theme this year:sustainability, tolerance and self-discovery.
Have you ever virtually walked through an exhibition?
Put on special glasses and walk through the Modest Fashion exhibition in the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam. With the Virtual Reality (VR) glasses you see art and fashion as if you are actually standing in front of it. The official presentation of the virtual tour will take place during the Modest Fashion Week in Amsterdam. Modest fashion is a multi-billion dollar industry.
