The summer edition of the biannual Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam (MBFWA) will start on Thursday 13 July. The opening night features a mix of promising talent and highly experienced fashion designers. For example, the young fashion collective Das Leben am Haverkamp shows their idiosyncratic vision of fashion, followed by the experienced designers Alexander van Slobbe and Francisco van Benthum. Bas Kosters – one of the most outspoken designers in the Netherlands – shares his optimistic view of the world with a new collection during the opening night.
The week will be closed by ASUS presents MAISON the FAUX, a Dutch fashion brand that impressed during New York Fashion Week early this year. In addition to providing a stage for established designers, MBFWA will once again serve as a springboard for up-and-coming Dutch and Flemish talent this edition. The well-known fashion award 'Lighting' is awarded to the best graduate of the year based on the judgment of the international jury of experts. The audience prize is awarded to the favorite designer of the voting public. Once again there is an exchange with an international Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek. Jan Cerny from Prague shows his collection during this 'Exchange Show'.
MBFWA remains committed to up-and-coming talent with the Fashion LAB initiative and the recurring Future Generation platform. Thanks to Fashion LAB it is also possible for a new generation of designers to show their work during Mercedes Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam.
The summer edition of MBFWA 2017 will take place from 13 to 16 July at the Westergasfabriek site in Amsterdam. The entire program of the fashion event can be found here. A number of shows are open to the public, ticket sales will start this week.
