The catwalk shows of the 25th edition of the Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam will take place from Thursday 8 July to Monday 11 July. There will be 18 catwalk shows from advanced designers and young talent. Established names such as Tony Cohen, Spijkers en Spijkers, FUTURA, Monique Collignon, dennis diem, Liselore Frowijn and Zyanya Keizer show their collections in the iconic Gashouder of the Westergasfabriek. The young fashion talent, including Esmay Hijmans, Trinhbecx, BOUND AMSTERDAM, Sunanda Koning, LES SOUERS ROUGES, Anbasja Blanken and Tess van Zalinge, show their collections under the name FashionLAB in the adjacent Transformatorhuis.
The catwalk program will open on Thursday 7 July with Lichting 2016, the prestigious annual competition for graduates from the seven fashion academies in the Netherlands. This edition, Lichting celebrates its 10-year anniversary with an opening show by last year's audience favorite, Karim Adduchi. Then it is up to the 14 best fashion students in the Netherlands to seduce the public with their graduation collections. The international jury will award one of the students as the winner of Lichting 2016. In addition, a public award will be awarded for the first time.
