There are several face creams on the market that all claim to be the best. Do you try them all, even if they come with a high price tag? Or do you choose a brand that offers complete skin care, even if it comes in 10 different bottles that all have to be applied daily. Is it worth it? Despite manufacturers' claims, many cosmetic products will cost more money than they do well. You don't need an expensive or lengthy skincare routine, the most effective and reliable regimen is quick and inexpensive. For daily skin care, you can limit your routine to three simple steps:cleanse your skin, protect from the sun, and address specific skin concerns if you have them, such as dry skin, acne, or fine lines and wrinkles. Products for all three steps are available for little money at your local drugstore.
1. Cleanse your skin. Choose a skin cleanser based on whether your skin is dry or oily. If you have dry skin, choose a mild cleanser and avoid products like toners, which contain alcohol. For oily skin, choose a soap that removes oil and clean your skin throughout the day.
2. Protect your skin from the sun. Choose a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher and wear it every day. Higher SPFs are helpful if you plan on spending hours outdoors, but if you spend most of your time indoors, SPF 30 will generally suffice. If you have sensitive skin, choose a sunscreen developed for sensitive skin.
3. Treat your skin's specific needs. For dry skin, there are plenty of effective and inexpensive moisturizers. There are also plenty of affordable products that reduce lines and wrinkles, fade brown spots, or fight acne.
