Why you should put (vegetable) oil on your skin

From almond oil to tea tree oil:most vegetable oils make your skin very happy. But what ingredients are actually in it? And what exactly do they do?

Vegetable oil for face or body?

Facial oil is lighter and less greasy than body oil. In addition, body oil is less concentrated and the oil is sometimes mixed with fillers, because otherwise the price of a bottle of body oil becomes too high.

Do you suffer from chapped spots or (extremely) dry skin? Then replace your body lotion with an oil.

Multi-purpose

Most oils replace your day or night cream, but it doesn't stop there. For example, you can use almond oil, jojoba oil, coconut oil, macadamia oil, olive oil and sunflower oil (or a mix thereof) to remove (waterproof) make-up.

Most vegetable oils are also very suitable as an eye cream:the antioxidants and essential fatty acids keep the delicate skin around the eyes supple and prevent wrinkles. You can also spread vegetable oil on your lips or in dry hair ends. Always use oil as the last step in your skin care routine, so over your lotion and/or serum. For example, the oil serves as a 'shield' that ensures that moisture can escape less well.
