Don't expect miracles, but every little bit helps.
Vegetables and fruits with beta-carotene can eventually cause your skin to tan faster. You can recognize fruits and vegetables with beta-carotene by their orange or yellow color. The substance is found in carrots, mango and cabbage. Beta-carotene is an antioxidant that prevents skin aging from too much sun. The substance is stored just under the top layer of skin and if you eat or drink it often enough, it can eventually make you tan. To a slightly lesser extent, lycopene also has this effect. Lycopene is found in tomatoes, among other things. The riper the tomato, the more lycopene it contains.
