Five trends to follow when choosing your sneakers in 2019

Sports shoes, sneakers or sneakers…. call them what you want, but sneakers aren't going anywhere!!
And it turns out trends change as fast as anything we love to wear. As they are now a must have in our shoe cabinets, we can't wait to find out which models to turn to at the end of the year to stay at the forefront of fashion.

Today, Mes habits Chéris unveils the five key trends in women's sneakers.

Neutral tones and increasingly wide soles.

A look that remains relevant and ultra popular in 2018-2019 is the white sneaker, which will be refitted with a thick and exaggerated sole which creates a sculpted silhouette. A muted palette of whites, pastels and a few metallics will give you an ultra-modern look. Details will be kept to a minimum, with only subtle touches like a slanted frill.

Sport at the service of fashion, not running

In the United States, 75% of sneakers are purchased for their aesthetics and lifestyle rather than their performance. Authenticity is key , with designs that stay true to classic sneaker styles and colors (blue, red, and white) while sympathetic to the broader trend toward sports for fashion, not fitness.

The influence of the 80s and 90s is still present

Nostalgia will continue to influence sneaker design,! The 80s and 90s were known for their chunky shapes (like Steve Jobs' shoes) and their flash and neon colors. The brands will offer colorful, playful looks and exclusive collaborations like the one between Reebok and Lisa Frank. A girly and multicolored look that we love!

The “Ugly” Sneakers

Ugly fashion is back, and it's here to stay, to expand. We'll see designers tap into TV pop culture of the 90s and 00s, giving nostalgia its biggest reboot yet. Already embraced by luxury brands like Balenciaga and Gucci, we'll see this look seep into the mass market, influencing clothing as well.
