There is a print that we see flourishing everywhere lately:it is the tartan print. Whether in costume, festival wear or street-style, the plaid pattern seems to have been adopted by all wardrobes.

This season, the Scottish print can be found on well-cut suits that show off. Unsurprisingly, it was the British who first lent themselves to the game. Actor Dev Patel melted hearts in a dandy costume. Then it was ex-One Direction, Harry Styles, who to sing his first solo title on the American show Saturday Night Live opted for a Gucci tartan print suit. Scottish fever has hit Americans as basketball player Steph Curry poses for GQ magazine this month in a golfer-inspired plaid suit.
The urban tartan
But is a trend really a trend until the street picks it up? It's done. Seoul's South Korean influencers can't do without ESC STUDIO's Spring - Summer 2017 collection, in which tartan reigns supreme. On the other side of the globe, in Los Angeles, the brand Fear of God - dubbed by Kanye West and Justin Bieber - mixes the grunge spirit of tartan with skate culture and Californian urban cool. And in California, precisely, we saw this year at the Coachella festival another ex-One Direction, the Englishman Louis Tomlinson, wearing a patchwork-style tartan shirt from the Spring Summer 2017 Umbro x Off-White capsule collection. Urban meets luxury fashion, it's the adoption of a trend.
