If there is one fault that is easy to avoid when choosing the right vest, it is the button that is tight... When it comes to vests, it is better to be vague than too tight! Many vests in the shop give the misleading impression of being exactly the right size. And yet, at the first movement, the neckline opens and the waistcoat gapes... or, worse, pulls on the buttons in unsightly folds.
The right vest for voluptuous shapes? Choose a flexible vest, rather than fitted, and a length below the buttocks or even up to the knees for tall women. Dare to wear men's vests! Prefer comfortable sleeves, ideally with kimono or batwing armholes, three quarters or worn up on the forearms, and wear your jackets preferably open… except on very cold days. If you want to refine your morphology, also avoid thick or too soft knits. Beware of crew necks, which can visually thicken this one.
On a slim silhouette, everything is possible, as the vest is adapted to your morphology. Follow your style and your desires, unless you have some complexes. If you consider your figure to be too thin, even thin, opt for large vests in fluffy, voluminous and comfortable mesh. Be careful, all the same, not to choose a model that is too big, otherwise you will get lost.
Do you prefer to emphasize your line? Bet on fitted shapes, provided you have enough ease to move without pulling on the buttons. Also try close-fitting mid-thigh length cardigans, or longer if you're tall, to wear open for a trendy look.
The rule is immutable:to lengthen, emphasize your legs. In other words ? Prefer short vests or under the buttocks, rather than long ones, which pack the silhouette by concealing the legs. Choose supple shapes, but close to the body, and match the vest to the color of your outfit:by harmonizing the top and bottom of an outfit, the silhouette is unified and the morphology elongated!
Short for the little ones, long for the big ones? Yes and no... If you assume your morphology without complex, wear the vests that you like, short, long or mid-length, knowing that a short vest lengthens. If you prefer to reduce your large size, on the other hand, bet on long vests that hide the legs, or create breaks:contrast the color of the vest with that of the bottom and that of the shoes. The resulting horizontal cut effect flattens the silhouette.
If you have a generous neckline, beware of shawl collar cardigans with a lapel. They add thickness, and therefore volume. Similarly, avoid crew necks, which mold and emphasize the chest, unless you choose them intentionally. To sublimate without amplifying, prefer vests with a V-neck, advantageous for the neckline. Would you like, on the contrary, to amplify your chest? Choose precisely round collars, fitted shapes, or shawl collars!
