To my great shame I must confess that we have a whole drawer full of those ugly supermarket shoppers. And besides being ugly, they are not even really handy with those way too long loops that they also call handles. Then why a drawer full I hear you ask? Well simple… don't have a bag with you if you unexpectedly go to get an errand. But no more!
I already have a very nice python shopper that I use for the really big groceries, but a large handbag also seems very useful for all those other moments when you actually need a little more space in a bag. Below some inspiration regarding bags that you can present yourself with.
A little browsing on the internet will get you somewhere. For example, I found this beautiful shopper from Tommy Hilfiger with a retro touch. Would not look out of place when you go shopping, but certainly not as an (extra) large handbag for a day out. You can even take it with you to the beach, it fits more than enough! I found this shopper at Brandfield.
Several times I have been secretly peeking at the doctor's office for a doctor's bag. I always think they look so wonderfully practical. Nice and big and nice and sturdy. But never before have I envisioned such a doctor's bag to use as a large handbag. Until I came across the bag above on Pinterest by Mirjam Zwolsman.
I actually don't think the word 'shopper' really fits these beautiful bags from Ted Baker. This elegant large handbag comes in many different colors such as black, navy, gray, but also very beautiful soft pink. With or without a bow. But secretly it is the bow that makes this Ted Baker shopper so special. They are super lightweight, which is of course ideal if you are going into the city for a day. Only downside:there is no inner pocket. Do you always lose your wallet and/or keys like me? Then a large handbag with an inner pocket might be more convenient.
Also beautiful in appearance are exclusive leather shoppers. Doesn't such a leather copy have a very exclusive look, don't you think? I love that cognac color combined with a different touch. Basic, tough and yet elegant. Found on Etsy.
If you are very handy with a sewing machine, you can of course also make such a nice large handbag yourself. How about banning the above idea with denim? I once -in my very young years- sewed a jacket for myself from pieces of denim. Fantastic project. I never wore it because it was way too stiff, but hey… it kept me off the street 😉 .
