We've had them all. Whether you're late and left the house without blow drying your hair or you're a victim of damp, bad hair days can ruin your mood. Here are some easy ways to fix a bad hair day.
Take the frizz
There are several factors that can cause your hair to become frizzy. The first is moisture. When it enters the follicle, it causes the hair to expand. To prevent or correct this, use a light cream that coats the hair and keeps moisture out of the inner cortex. Hairspray is also helpful. Heat can also cause frizz, so apply a protectant before using a blow dryer, curling iron or flat iron.
Go against flat hair
You failed to blow-dry your hair, so now your hair is flat and limp. What are you doing? Be prepared! If you're running out of the house with wet hair, pack a few hair accessories in your bag. That way, when it dries, you can make a quick bun. Bring clips, elastics, or combs that you can use to pull your hair back on one side. If there is room in your bag, put a good cream or styling product in it too.
Show damaged hair some love If your hair seems drier or more damaged than usual, buy a water filter for your shower if you don't have one. Hard water can be rough on the hair. If your hair has suffered from chemical treatments, look for a moisturizing conditioner, preferably one with keratin. Chemicals weaken the hair and keratin adds some of its strength and elasticity. Read the ingredients label and make sure keratin is at the top of the list.
Grow it in style
You had a stylish bob, now you're growing your hair. Our advice is just to just let it grow. Just because your hair is in between phases doesn't mean it has to be a mess. And that goes for any transition. If you don't know how to style it nicely, visit a hairdresser every now and then for advice while your hair is growing longer.
