Willemijn and Liselotte from BeBio love watermelon. When they have watermelon at home, they immediately make one of these watermelon masks. Read here which watermelon mask is good for your skin.
Now that summer has really arrived, watermelons are being brought into the house more often. And that is sensible because such a melon contains vitamins A, B6 and C. In addition, it consists of almost 95% water. In addition to the fact that watermelons taste nice and sweet and fresh, they also contain important minerals and they lower cholesterol and stress. Not entirely unimportant is the fact that they contain antioxidants that reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
However, you can do more with watermelon than just eat them. Here are some tips for masks containing watermelon (juice). Enjoy!
Be careful with masks :you never know how your skin reacts to certain substances, so to prevent your face from becoming completely red and irritated; first test the mask on a small part of your arm, for example, to see if your skin can handle it.
Do you suffer from dry skin?
Mix a teaspoon of melon juice with Greek yogurt, spread it over your face (or other dry areas on your body) and wash it off after 10 minutes. Your skin will feel a lot softer.
Is your skin burned by the sun?
Sprinkle cotton balls with melon juice and place them on the burnt spots, wash your skin with cold water after 15 minutes. This mask ensures that the skin cools down and can recover.
Is your skin restless and acne-prone?
Mix a spoonful of watermelon juice with a teaspoon of mashed banana. Banana is rich in vitamins B2, B6 and B12, and ensures that the skin relaxes and becomes softer at the same time. The juice of the melon makes the skin clean and fresh again. Clean with warm water after 10 to 15 minutes.
A tip for aging skin:
Mix a teaspoon of mashed avocado with the watermelon juice. The antioxidants and vitamins C and E – derived from the avocado – together ensure a successful anti-aging process for the skin. Let it sit for 20 minutes and then rinse the skin with warm water.
