The Dutch love a good pedicure. Professional foot care is popular in our country, according to research by Maurice de Hond on behalf of ProVoet.
More than three million Dutch people go to a pedicure to have their feet taken care of. The main causes are pain and prevention of the consequences of disorders such as rheumatism or diabetes. The explosive growth – 30 percent – in the number of qualified pedicures in the past four years also indicates that many Dutch people consider attention to the feet important.
According to the director of ProVoet, we can expect that more attention to foot care will be needed in the next five to ten years, given the increase in diabetes patients and the aging population in the Netherlands.
