The simplest gestures can go a long way in helping those in need, and donating your hair is one of them. Adults and even children, like Christian McPhilamy or Thomas Moore, have been doing the exercise for years to help cancer patients. And the more there is to offer, the better! And in the field, a 56-year-old Briton may have broken the record:Elaine Mayes, who last went to the hairdresser in 1994, donated her meter and a half of hair (1.4 meters very precisely)! Her extreme and very courageous decision was motivated by her personal experience:cancer took away several friends and family members of this resident of Aberdeen, Scotland.
Each millimeter of hair cut brought in a pound sterling (in other words €1.1) to The Little Princess association, which provides wigs made of natural hair to sick children. In all, Elaine Mayes collected the sum of 2,400 pounds, or 2,775 €, simply by getting rid of her long mane! His good deed, filmed live, did not traumatize the main interested party, who left the hair salon with shaved hair and a radiant face. She even jokingly claimed to have a large collection of hats to keep her warm.
Congratulations to her!
