Getting the scissors in your long hair is exciting. And as soon as you're at the hairdresser, you still decide to just have it trimmed. With this tip you can determine whether short hair suits your face.
2.25 inch rule
John Frieda has made a study of it to find out if short hair suits your face. The angle of your jaw appears to be decisive for this. Do you want to know if short hair suits you? Then you can use the 2.25 inch rule. All you need:a pencil and a ruler.
This is how you do it
Put a pencil horizontally under your chin. After that, place the ruler under your ear and measure the distance at which the ruler and pencil intersect, as shown in the picture below. If they intersect at less than 2.25 inches, then short hair will suit your face. Is the distance longer than 2.25 inches? Then long hair is a better choice.
How much is 2.25 inches?
2.25 inches is about 5.7 centimeters. Some rulers have inches in addition to centimeters.
