The sunscreen is essential to protect your skin , summer and winter, harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun. It prevents sunburn (and not tanning!), small pimples, brown spots. But above all sun protection helps delay skin aging , or the first wrinkles, and to limit the risk of skin cancer. Therefore, it is important to use the right products to preserve the skin of our face and body.
It is often difficult to find good sun protection. In general, we want a product that is effective, pleasant to use without leaving white marks and with a good formulation for our health and the environment. Therefore, to choose your sunscreen you have to pay attention to a few details. One of the first things to check is the sun protection index SPF or FPS (Sun Protection Factor). There are 4 levels:weak sun protection (SPF 6 to 10), the average (SPF 15 to 25), thehigh (SPF 30 to 50) and very high (SPF 50 and above). Prefer a care with index 50 to properly protect your skin. Also be vigilant about the PPD indices (Persistent Pigment Darkening ) for the UVA rays of the sun, which penetrate deeper into the dermis.
Sunscreen Textures There are many and to choose it well depends in part on your tastes. The cream is pleasant to use, it moisturizes the skin but it can, depending on the brand, have a sticky finish or leave traces. The milk generally has a more fluid texture, it is practical and penetrates the skin more quickly. The sun oil brings a satin shine to the skin and applies evenly.
Our favorites go for the mist which has a light and invisible texture on the skin; and sun jelly which, in addition to penetrating quickly, brings an immediate boost to the skin.
There are a multitude of sun products, both in conventional cosmetics and in organic and green brands. Each year, certain references stand out. For summer 2021, we recommend the Respire brand and in particular its SPF 30 sun spray. Natural, composed of a mineral filter, it is effective against UVA and UVB rays and is water resistant. The suncare products of Biarritz Laboratories , a French organic cosmetics brand, are also highly appreciated for their format, formulation and effectiveness. Their SPF 50+ sun stick is also very practical to take everywhere.
