The down jacket is, unfortunately, not for everyone. If you assume your silhouette, wear it as you like it. If, on the other hand, you want to camouflage your little complexes or highlight your advantages, choose it according to your morphology!
The down jacket is perfect for slender silhouettes. For the little ones, it is better to choose it short, while the round ones will prefer mid-length down jackets:choose a coat length mid-thigh or above the knee, but necessarily belted. Also watch the thickness of your down jacket… The thicker it is, the more it weighs down the silhouette. It is better, in this case, to choose an ultra-thin down jacket, to wear under a woolen coat, or even a sleeveless down jacket to put on over it.
Whatever happens, remember, when wearing it, that the down jacket is a strong piece:it does not tolerate excess and overkill. The more marked you choose it – colorful, printed, rich in details or with an original cut – the more sober your look must be to go with it.
The sporty silhouette is the essential look for the down jacket. Choose it in a short version, very warm, to wear like a jacket. Bet on sober colors for an all-purpose style, or dare to wear a colored or even printed coat for a playful style. For example ? A chunky Irish knit jumper, raw skinny jeans tucked into warm knee-high boots, under a hip-length khaki, navy or burgundy down jacket. Or a slogan sweatshirt with rolled boyfriend jeans over colorful tights, high-top sneakers and a short fuchsia pink puffer jacket!
A feminine silhouette in a down jacket is possible… provided you choose it well. For an elegant style, bet on the details:a beautiful lining and pretty buttons, a hood lined with fur, a belt and why not, a print. Wear it over a feminine but casual dress, like a knit sweater dress, perfect for winter. Complete your look with discreet jewelry, a nice pair of leather boots or wedge shoes with tights. In any case, beware of excess:the down jacket does not lend itself well to waders or stiletto heels. Save them for your woolen coat!
It does not have the elegance of a woolen cape, of course. However, the down jacket knows how to be discreet on a classic look, until it becomes a new basic! Again, avoid overkill. Choose a down jacket in a sober color, length at the hips like a jacket. Opt for elaborate details, such as the faux fur collar or golden zippers, engraved buttons or tone-on-tone leather inserts. The most amazing? The white or cream puffer jacket, to wear with slim jeans and a cashmere sweater, a fine jumper and a pair of moccasins or low boots with heels.
