We often hear and read that your skincare routine is very important. But what exactly does it mean and is there still a difference between the morning routine and evening routine? Together with NIVEA we explain it to you!
A skincare routine is the order in which you use skincare products. Indeed, it is not only important that you use the right products for your skin, but also order is important.
Why is such an extensive routine in the right order so important? Because your skin – which is your largest organ after all – is continuously exposed to external factors. Think of UV rays, but also of dust, dirt, sweat and often of course also make-up.
That is why it is all the more important to protect your skin against this and to clean it properly. By following the correct order, you assure your skin that all products will provide optimal results.
There is also a big difference between the morning skincare routine and the evening routine. The morning routine is in fact a boost for your skin, while the evening routine is rather intended to intensively nourish your skin for the nighttime hours.
You may not think about it, but it is also important to properly cleanse your skin in the morning. Even if you already did this the night before. While you are sleeping, your skin will also get dirty from, for example, your pillow. With the right cleaning products you give your skin a nice oxygen boost in the morning for a fresh start to the day.
2. Eye Cream
Do you already use eye cream regularly? Then it is good to know that you use this after cleansing and before the day cream. Not using an eye cream yet? Then it's worth considering using it anyway. The skin around your eyes is much thinner and therefore more vulnerable than other parts of your face. That is why circles, wrinkles and puffiness are visible extra quickly. So some extra food can't hurt!
3. Day Cream
Then give the rest of your face a boost with a fine day cream that suits your skin type. For example, for sensitive skin, dry skin or an anti-wrinkle cream. In addition, it is also recommended to use a day cream with SPF to protect your skin from the sun.
Done with these three steps? Then you can now possibly start with your make-up routine.
This routine also starts with cleansing your face. Not only your make-up, but also all the dirt and sweat that has settled on your skin and in your pores during the day must be removed from your face!
2. Toner or serum
A toner is a lesser variant of a facial cleanser and ensures that the last remnants of make-up disappear from your face for good. If you do not use this, you can use your serum in step 2.
3. Eye Cream
As we wrote before, your skin under your eyes is very thin and delicate, so eye cream can also do no harm in the evening.
4. Moisturizer or night cream
Finally, finish your routine with a moisturizer or night cream to nourish and help your skin recover.
