When you look in the mirror, you are shocked by the visible pores on your cheeks.
A pore is the tube that belongs to a sebaceous gland. The sebaceous gland secretes sebum to keep your skin supple. When it comes to large pores, it means a wider opening. If you have oilier skin, your sebaceous glands produce more sebum, which widens the opening of the pore. As you age, the skin tissue weakens, causing the pore wall to sag. The older you get, the more visible pores can become.
In the May 2015 issue of Santé, Marielle Eggenkamp, skin coach of the hannah brand, made the following statement:'Try to get rid of the fact that your pores are 'too big'. Visible pores are very normal. In photos in magazines, they are simply brushed away, making us think they shouldn't be there. Also, a visible pore always remains visible. At least:as long as sebum continues to flow through it, and you can hope it stays that way, because that keeps the skin supple.'
