Did you already know the following facts about your eyelashes?
1. Eyelashes protect your eyes
Just like your eyebrows, your eyelashes ensure that dirt, sweat and rain don't get into your eyes as easily.
2. Every day an eyelash falls out
Unfortunately, every now and then an eyelash ends up in your eye. That is almost inevitable:every day 1 to 5 eyelashes fall out.
3. Your lashes have a short growth cycle The growth cycle of your eyelashes is much shorter than that of the hair on your head. The short growth cycle of about 3 months is the reason that your lashes don't grow that long (unfortunately).
4. Your upper lashes are fuller
You probably saw that already. Your upper lashes are thicker and you have more. You have about 200 to 300 lashes on your upper lid. Your lower eyelid has about 100.
5. Lice in your eyelashes, it's possible
The chances are not that great. The ordinary louse cannot live in your eyelashes, the eyelash hairs are too thick. The pubic lice, on the other hand, can live in your eyelashes.
