On my left, L’Huile de Leonor Greyl, THE great classic of the brand specializing in high-end hair care. Formulated from a combination of vegetable oils, it detangles, softens, nourishes and beautifies the hair. It is only used on the lengths and ends, leaving it on for more than 10 minutes before shampooing. His price ? €32.10 for 95 ml.
On my right, the outsider, Yves Rocher Regenerating Oil. A complex of three oils (Jojoba, Babassu and Macadamia) that repairs, nourishes and lightens the hair. Like its competitor, the oil is left on before the shampoo. Very low price, on the other hand:€6.40 for 150 ml.
The two oils have a priori the same function:they are both used as a pre-shampoo treatment to nourish the hair and repair damaged ends. We love their formulas, both without silicones, and their delicious smells. At Leonor Greyl, we are in fairly floral fragrances, while for Yves Rocher, we are a little closer to the summer scents of monoi (due to Jojoba in particular).
In terms of efficiency, it must be admitted, there are no major differences. In both cases, the hair is beautiful and well hydrated. Good point for Leonor Greyl's formula, which hydrates without weighing it down, while with Yves Rocher's, we note that there is a little care left after shampooing, it penetrates less well into the fiber, which may be displeasing with very thin hair. On the other hand, with the latter, the perfume remains present. If you like it, it's a real treat.
Concerning the use, at Leonor Greyl, the oil crystallizes, it must therefore be soaked in hot water before using it (to make it liquid), not necessarily super practical (but there, we nitpick:generally , if we treat ourselves, it means we have a little time). The advantage then is that the oil is lukewarm on the hair. Yves Rocher oil can be used immediately and pours more easily into the palm of your hand.
So verdict? Difficult to decide between them because they offer an almost similar result. But, if you appreciate the lightness of the hair after using Leonor Greyl oil, you have to admit that the price of the Yves Rocher formula is unbeatable:€6.40. It's up to you, therefore, according to your budget and your olfactory preferences!
