Do you think that customizing your own clothes is an insurmountable challenge? And if you go back to childhood using stencils and special fabric paint? With the help of a few simple gestures, do not hesitate any longer and treat yourself with a method that is both simple and fun. Get a plain t-shirt that you no longer wear:choose it rather new to avoid the neglected aspect and get started!
1. In a cardboard sheet, cut with a cutter the shape or the message that you want to find on your t-shirt. You can also get different stencils on websites specializing in creative hobbies. Secure the stencil with double-sided tape to hold it in place.
2. Get a piece of cardboard that you can slip inside your t-shirt:when you are going to apply the paint, this will be useful to avoid getting it on the back of the t-shirt.
3. Choose special fabric paint. It exists in different forms:in a jar to be spread with a sponge or brush, in a spray can for quick use or even in a spray which remains the most practical form. The sprays allow you to work quickly without risking dispersing it all over your t-shirt.
4. You can choose to apply only one color, to alternate several or even to create a gradient of several colors:the more you practice, the more you will learn to give effects to your future creations.
5. Wait a few minutes then carefully remove the stencil and then the cardboard inside the t-shirt.
If you are not a fan of painting, there are a multitude of possibilities in the range of iron-on fabrics to find your happiness:letters, famous characters, textured fabrics... Your future t-shirt will be at the top of the trend. There are no limits to your desires. Go to websites or shops specializing in creative hobbies or sewing to choose them.
1. Slip a piece of cardboard the size of the t-shirt inside the t-shirt to protect the back.
2. Preheat your iron on the cotton setting.
3. Define the location of your message on your t-shirt and attach it using the sticky part on your designs.
4. On your transfer, lay an additional fabric to protect it and not iron directly on the design.
5. Iron your fabric. After a few minutes, gently lift the fabric to reveal your new fashion-forward top.
