It's a shame, but summer really seems to be over. With a few sunny days left here and there, we really have to believe that autumn is just around the corner. The nice thing about the new season is that we can update our wardrobe. Fortunately, because the stores are full of clothing collections for the autumn/winter 2018 season again. What are the trends for this season? We list them here.
Colorful stripes: Colorful stripes are proving to be one of the more striking trends of the season. This can be done, for example, by combining a striped item with a solid piece, or you can opt for a full striped look.
Matching sets: Matching print sets abound, advocating for bold, statement clothing with minimal effort.
Faux fur: Of course, we're leaving real fur behind, and this season we're opting for faux fur in a variety of different styles to protect us from the approaching cold – from soft pastels to playful kaleidoscope colors.
Animal prints: Forget all your preconceptions about animal print – zebra, snake and leopard prints are back for winter 2018. To avoid looking tacky, keep the rest of your outfit minimal. Gloss: High gloss fabrics are a must this season, be it vinyl, latex, plastic or leather. Think metallics in shiny materials, sequins for evening wear, feminine dresses with an edgy edge and items with a shiny finish.
Tweed: Add an air of heritage chic to your wardrobe by joining the tweed trend. With a tweed coat, skirt or jacket, you are always in the right place.
Checks: Diamonds in their many forms are the key to the new season. Big, small, classic, we're seeing them all coming out this fall.
Learn: This season's most dominant fabric is leather, which can be seen in skirts, trousers and trench coats. It doesn't have to be especially black – color is also allowed.
Accessories Whether it's a knitted balaclava or a large hood, the fashion industry wants your head covered this winter. On the feet we see cowboy boots and vibrant colorful tights, and on the arms hang small round bags, western-style bags and bags with fringes and checks. In terms of jewelry, nostalgic retro pendant necklaces and large, statement earrings are a must.
