Do you like high heels but don't feel confident enough to wear them? No problem. With a few tricks you can walk gracefully in even the most high heels. We list them here.
1. The easiest way not to walk awkwardly in your heels is to put your whole foot down immediately, as if you were wearing ballet flats. It may be obvious to many people, but when you wear high heels, put your heel down first, followed by the toes. This will make walking more natural.
2. Wearing heels makes your stride shorter than usual, so you need to take a greater number of small steps to go the same distance. Add a slight wiggle, and this can work for the better.
3. Trying to walk fast in heels can not only be uncomfortable, but can end in a disastrous journey. Between the smaller steps and the compensated balance, it is better to take your time if you are wearing heels. In addition, walking slowly gives more self-confidence.
4. You will find that you want to walk faster than your heels allow, and that can eventually affect your neck. Allow yourself to lean back slightly when walking in heels as this will counteract the tendency to push your torso forward.
5. If you want to draw a straight line, you'll get better results if you watch the endpoint as you draw, rather than looking at your pencil when it moves. In the same way, if you walk in heels, you walk more gracefully when you look at your goal (for example, the shop at the end of the street) and visualize a straight line to your end point, rather than staring at your toes when you runs.
6. With each step you take or if you feel yourself sliding, flex your foot slightly to put pressure on the inside of your shoe. This ensures that your shoe fits your foot, making it easier to maneuver.
7. If your shoes are ill-fitting, it's almost impossible to walk naturally in heels. If your heels are too big, use insoles for a better fit. If they are too small, consider having them stretched by a cobbler.
