pimples. You will be confronted with it automatically if you have a teenager at home. Although my teenager is fortunately not completely full yet, I thought that I could already collect tips against pimples. For when we need it ourselves and possibly for you.
Table of contents
I myself have never had much trouble with pimples, but I recognize all too well the uncertainty that it can cause when you are an adolescent. Pimples always appear at exactly the wrong time. You probably recognize that from the past.
And when you see how adolescents deal with their pimples, it is quite scary. They use the most annoying tricks to get rid of it, but a lot of them have no effect.
Anyway, let's first go into the content before we get started with our tips against pimples.
Acne is another word for pimples. Pimples are more popularly used, acne more in healthcare and product development.
Acne is an inflammation in the skin that arises because the sebum produced -with the bacteria that are naturally in it- can no longer get out of the skin quickly enough. Acne worsens under the influence of hormones, because more and thicker sebum is then produced. This especially happens during puberty, during menstruation or during pregnancy. Because the sebum is thicker, it (with the bacteria) cannot get out of the skin quickly enough. This causes the sebaceous gland to become increasingly full, causing it to burst open at some point, below the skin.
The bacteria spread and then an inflammation (usually above the skin) develops, better known as a pimple. And then these tips against pimples come in handy. In addition to 'normal' acne, there are also special types of acne, which you will find below:
There are three special forms of acne.
Okay, now that you know exactly what acne is and that one acne is not the same, we can move on to the tips against pimples. What can you do about pimples besides good skin care? As you have read above, there is not a solution for every form of acne.
For the 'normal' pimples as we know them as a result of, for example, hormones, there are some tips that will help you on your way:
Well, it is not a tip that I have to give to my adolescent, my adolescent prefers to eat unhealthy. But it is recommended. Eating enough fruit and vegetables in any case ensures that your body is as healthy as possible, so that pimples have less chance than when eating too much sugar or fat.
I am convinced that there are possibilities that nature offers us, even if I have not tried them myself. In any case, they are tips against pimples that you can logically think of:if it doesn't help, it doesn't do any harm.
For example, I have read that tomato can help with pimples. Just cut open a tomato and then go over the pimples with the insides. Leave on for 15 minutes and the pimple should be gone the next day.
Another tip is about the Aloe Vera plant. If you have pimples, apply the moisture of this plant to your pimple so that the skin can recover. You can then store the leaf in the refrigerator so that you can use it more often if necessary.
Keep in mind that you change your pillowcase regularly. At night, the necessary dirt accumulates on your pillow because you perspire and skin flakes remain behind. If you lie on this again the next night, you are actually lying on the dirt from the night before.
Another product that has proven itself excellently and makes use of your pillowcase is Phitex® ClearUp.
This remedy is one of the safe tips against pimples. It is a working product against acne and impure skin. It tackles the problem in a whole new way and was developed especially for teenagers. It only needs to be applied once a week. Unlike other products increases it corrects the resistance of the skin. I read an article about this product on the scientifically critical review site Beauty-Review in which Phitex® ClearUp is rated very well as a product against acne and blemished skin.
Phitex® ClearUp Phidermica only needs to be applied once a week to your son or daughter's pillow and then works into the skin at night. Does your daughter or son have acne on the back? Then simply apply it to the inside of a t-shirt.
Steaming every now and then is also good for your skin. It ensures that the pores open better, so that the excess sebum can also disappear more easily. In addition, it improves your blood circulation so that waste products are removed faster and the chance of pimples is reduced.
In addition to taking your skin care seriously, moisturizing from the inside is also important. Drink plenty of water and tea. That is not only good for your entire health, but also works against pimples.
Everyone reads and hears a lot of tips against pimples, but there are also plenty of wrong tips against pimples in circulation. Tips that may temporarily help you further, but also cause damage to your skin.
Not only against pimples by the way, this tip has a purifying effect for your entire body. It is not for nothing that athletes also benefit from drinking beetroot juice. Beet juice contains ingredients that are excellent for inflammation, such as folic acid, antioxidants and potassium. For this reason, drinking beetroot juice is one of the tips against pimples. Want to read more about beet juice? You can do that on this blog.
"Tips" that are always not recommended are tips against pimples where irritating or skin-weakening agents are used, such as toothpaste, strong acids, alcohol, scrubs or oils. These are always bad and only help temporarily. After that, the skin is extra irritated and has less resistance. As a result, the skin is less able to deal with a new pimple.
Toothpaste contains many irritating (and harmful substances) for the skin and, like alcohol, dries out the skin. The skin reacts to this by producing more sebum. More sebum (which then cannot get out of the skin) eventually leads to more acne. In addition, alcohol not only kills the bad, but also the good bacteria, which disrupts the skin flora and further weakens the skin.
Acids, including dissolved aspirin on the skin, disrupt the skin's natural acidity. This weakens the skin and reduces its resistance, so no good tips against pimples. In addition, you should not use Salicyl if you are pregnant!
Scrubs often contain perfume (fragrances) and damage the surface of the skin, causing it to weaken and dry out. New (invisible) wounds are also often created where acne bacteria are 'scrubbed'.
You should also avoid pure oils, such as Tea tree and Jasmine, for example. These acne-fighting tips dry out and irritate the skin by releasing too many free fatty acids. Tea tree can also cause hormone disturbances (when used frequently on large surfaces such as the back). In men in particular, an increase in estrogen can occur, which causes, among other things, breast formation.
Almost all anti-acne products and products for blemished skin have side effects and contain skin weakening substances. These types of products make the user more and more dependent on the product! The product lowers the resistance of the skin, making it increasingly difficult for the skin to repair the acne itself and the product is increasingly needed. Bad tips against pimples.
Side effects of anti-acne products may include:
*Isotretinoin, antibiotics and the contraceptive pill have many other side effects not listed here.
Different types of alcohol are often used in acne products because alcohol kills bacteria. Unfortunately, alcohol kills not only the bacteria of the acne, but also the good bacteria of the skin. As a result, the skin can no longer build up a healthy resistance to recover and it remains necessary to continue to use the product with alcohol. As a result, the skin continues to weaken.
In addition, many types of alcohol are also irritating to the skin and especially to blemished skin. Alcohol in an anti-acne product dries out the skin and therefore stimulates sebum production. Because this increases the amount of sebum in the skin, the acne eventually worsens.
This substance often causes irritation, especially for sensitive skin. This substance is better avoided in skin treatment products. Propylene Glycol is made from the petrochemical substance Propylene Oxide. A safe alternative to this ingredient is Propanediol.
These can irritate and weaken the skin in the long run. Dyes and fragrances can eventually cause a perfume allergy. Colorants, fragrances and parabens are unnecessarily stressful for the skin. It is not for nothing that many beauty products are nowadays often produced without parabens and the like.
Salicylic acid is used in many tips against pimples and in many anti-acne products and products for blemished skin. Unfortunately, salicylic acid, but also many other acids, are only optimally effective at a pH lower than 4. A product with a pH lower than 4 disrupts the natural acidity of the skin (this pH is 5.3). As a result, the skin builds up a healthy resistance less well to be able to recover.
