Sun worshipers may want to avoid nighttime snacks before going out into the sun. A new study shows that eating at abnormal times disrupts the skin's biological clock, including the daytime strength of an enzyme that protects against the sun's harmful ultraviolet rays. While more research is needed, the finding shows that people who eat late at night are more vulnerable to sunburn and longer-lasting effects such as skin aging and skin cancer. However, more research is needed to better understand the links between diet and UV damage in humans.
