The cold outside, a nice warm shower, the heating that is on and the low humidity in the house; in winter you can suffer from an itchy scalp. You can soothe your scalp with the following tips.

Shampoo cleanses your hair, but it also removes the natural oils from your skin and hair. And that while that natural protective layer comes in handy when your scalp itches. You only need a little bit of shampoo to get your hair clean.
The warmer the water, the more it dries out your skin and that doesn't do the itching any good. Taking a cold(er) shower has more advantages.
Give your skin time to recover by giving it at least a rest day in between.
That way you damage your skin as little as possible.
Do you notice no improvement after two weeks? Perhaps the shampoo you are using is too harsh for your skin. Switch temporarily to a milder shampoo for sensitive scalps.
Leave your styling products for a while and give your scalp a rest to recover.
Scratching may give you a moment's relief, but in the end it will only make your problem worse. If you do feel the need to scratch, gently press your nail into the skin to soothe the itching. Better yet:leave your scalp alone until you are rid of the complaints.
