Humid weather conditions appear to be good for your nails. So say researchers from the University of Manchester.
The researchers found that humidity is the secret to smooth and strong nails † High humidity not only makes nails stronger, but also more flexible and easier to file or trim.
Nails appear to become brittle faster in an environment where the air is dry. The air should also not be too humid, because then the nails can be damaged and get bent. The perfect humidity for nails is 55 percent.
With this knowledge, the scientists are now looking for ways to better protect the nails.
