The Air Max Day is fast approaching! For the thirtieth anniversary of Nike's flagship sneaker this weekend, the brand has planned plenty of new features.
It was March 26, 1987. The Nike Air Max was revealed to the public. Thirty years, therefore, that this shoe does not lack air. Nike's cult model has never stopped reinventing itself since:CB 34, TN, Elite, Skyline, Flyknit... And this weekend, on the occasion of Air Max Day, new pairs will see the light of day.
A sole composed entirely of air
The most anticipated innovation is the Nike Air VaporMax. A true feat of technology, the latest in the Air Max line takes up the aesthetics of the Flyknit model and rests on a sole entirely composed of air, whose cushioning is the pride of the brand. Like some Flyknit models, the VaporMax is a unisex pair in tune with the times.
The original Air Max 1 comes out for the occasion in its original colors:white, red, gray and white blue gray. But Nike, always looking to the future, also offers it in several colors. In partnership with the Japanese label Atmos, Air Max 1 is adorned with its elephant print with a turquoise comma. The Air Max 1 Master brings its safari look up to date.
Welcome to Airmojis
The Nike iD customization service will be provided with "Airmojis", small icons that take up the world of Nike and Air Max basketball, to decorate and personalize fans' shoes. However, this offer will only be available for a limited time.
For a year Nike didn't just stir up air. Nike selected 12 designers from around the world - from Los Angeles to Istanbul to Shanghai - and renamed them "RevolutionnAirs". Their mission was to redesign the Nike Air Max. Internet users then voted to elect their favorite pair, which will be presented this weekend and then marketed in 2018. With all that, it's hard not to find a shoe that fits.
