Every year, Nike celebrates its iconic basketball on the traditional Air Max Day, March 26. So it's time to bring out your best pair of Air Max and discover the new models in the range, imagined by three big names in the brand for the occasion.
The Air Max 1 was created by Tinker Hatfield, a designer at Nike, in 1987. The trainer revealed the technology of the air bubble in the sole and it was a revolution in the world of sneakers. Having become legendary, the Air Max has followed many other models that have also become legendary.
To celebrate this Air Max Day 2016, three cult models of this sneaker have been revisited by Tinker Hatfield but also by Hiroshi Fujiwara and Mark Parker, two other Nike designers. The three have been working together since 2002 under the name "HTM" and each unveil a model that reflects their contribution to the history of the brand.
Mark Parker leaned on the Nike Air MaxUltra M by adding a twist of the Big Window, another clean-lined Nike model.
Hiroshi Fujirawa has decided to revisit the hybrid version of the trainer, the Air Max LD-Zero, again inspired by the brand's old cult models - a sublime pair, let it be said.
And finally, designer Tinker Hatfield chose the Air Max 90 Ultra Superfly, a sneaker with an incredible name to which he added a high sock, the pinnacle of Nike style.
These three Air Max models are available on the Nike store, at €180, €200 and €240 - in limited editions, of course.
Happy Air Max Day.
