Why don't we dare? We are afraid of damaging the hair:permanent straightening uses chemicals that can weaken... unless you have a good address!
It's for me ? Above all, we determine what we want:for less curly hair that keeps volume, we ask for a relaxation (there are several levels). If you want a permanent "smooth baguette" result (until total regrowth), two options:Japanese straightening or straightening. The most important thing is that the operation is carried out by a pro who knows about it. We recommend Rino de Nicolo (7, rue de Ponthieu, Paris 8th) or Myriam K. (41, avenue de la Grande-Armée, Paris 16th). Another option:ask friends who have tried it. Before starting, we take care of the hair, because permanent straightening cannot be done on dry hair.
It is done ! Once the hair has stiffened, it must be shaped with each wash (but brushing lasts a week without any problem). And we put the package on the care:moisturizing shampoo, oil bath, serum, day cream... Hydration must be daily, otherwise, there is breakage. To keep the shape of the hair, we go back to the hairdresser when the regrowth is visible (from 1 month and a half to 3 months, depending on the speed of growth).
What if we regret? Permanent straightening is irreversible:you have to wait for the hair to grow. From 4 cm of regrowth, a curly weave can be applied to avoid the mismatch between frizzy roots and stiff lengths.
