Why don't we dare? We've all seen and heard stories of "poodle" perms or curls that go out the window after the first wash...
It's for me ? Before going to the hairdresser, we look for photos of the type of curls we want. We ask him to show us perm results (the service exists in all salons but the result may differ) and we compare the two to see if we are talking about the same thing. Another important point:the perm is done on healthy hair, because it weakens it. They must be healthy along the entire length, otherwise the curls take only at the tips. Namely:the perm transforms for good, but you have to shape it every time you dry.
It is done ! It takes 15 days for the perm to relax. And so ? You may be disappointed at first:it's normal, the loop is very tight, but that's not the end result. On the maintenance side, we use products for curly hair (as if it were natural). After shampooing, apply a mousse and dry the hair upside down, drawing the curls with a diffuser tip. We avoid leaving them to dry in the open air, so as not to end up with a "mini-wave" effect, more notched than curly.
If we are disappointed? You can do a Brazilian straightening (in the salon) or ask the hairdresser to reverse the situation (and prepare to cut a little, because it greatly weakens them).
