A simple haircut can change a life, because it can restore a person's confidence, and even make them feel like themselves again. This feeling, the American hairdresser Kate Langman saw it in the eyes of one of her clients suffering from depression. On March 9, the professional recounted in a long Facebook post the "miracle" she had performed on a woman whose identity has not been revealed:"A month ago, I saw this woman [in the salon] take all of Redken's "silky hair" products. When I asked her if she needed help, she started telling me her story. […] She did not have the strength to get out of bed for 6 months, which means that she had neither washed nor combed her hair. She was content to pull them up in a bun, which had turned into a huge dreadlock ". Indeed, when we see “the front”, we realize the magnitude of the task. But more was needed to discourage the young hairdresser!
Kate Langman then advised him to put the products back in their place and come back the next day to pass under his expert hands. After several appointments to which the unknown did not show up, it was at the beginning of the month that she took the plunge. "I didn't care what time I was leaving my job, I wanted to make sure she felt taken care of “, continues the hairdresser. The client's only request:to keep the length of her hair intact. “Usually, we would have just advised to cut everything. But I wanted to take on the challenge for her. I wanted her to realize how much I was going to give it my all to make her feel good about herself again ". And it was 8 and a half hours later that the work was completed (4 and a half hours of detangling, 3 and a half hours of coloring and 30 minutes of cutting):the client left with silky hair and a nice shade in the red tones.
