Yes. Even if you have a small chest, this does not exempt you from wearing a bra during sport. Sports bras support the breasts in a very different way from a classic bra. The support is distributed over the entire surface of the bra, and not just by the underwiring and the straps, for example. Namely:the breasts are not muscles, but a gland surrounded by a mass of fat. They are connected to the pectoral muscles only by a ligament and the skin. With each more or less violent effort, they suffer shocks, and must support up to five times their own weight.
When these are repeated without the breast being properly maintained, bruises may appear, and the breasts lose their shape. They can sag early. Prevention is better than cure!
The more intense the effort, the better your sports bra will need to perform. There are indeed several levels of support, which correspond to the types of sport. They are usually measured on a scale of 1 to 5. For medium-intensity sports such as walking, climbing, yoga or Pilates, a bra or sports bra ranging from 1 to 3 is sufficient. Running, athletics, mountain biking, horseback riding, zumba or fitness classes require, unsurprisingly, a bra at the maximum compression level. Whether you have a small chest or, on the contrary, a generous cup, prefer X or Y cuts. These are sports bras with straps that cross at the back or racer back. More stable, they also allow great freedom of movement.
First mistake to avoid:buying your sports bra too small thinking that it will better support your breasts. It is absolutely necessary to choose a model in your size! If you feel like you don't really know your breast size, now is the time to find out! Seamless sports bras are more comfortable:no risk of chafing. We absolutely prohibit whales:risk of injury! Practical, models that close at the front. Also make sure that the fabric between the two cups does not "float". It should touch your skin well there. If you have a large chest, choose wide straps. Important criterion, finally:the material. It must be breathable to reduce perspiration and skin irritation. Look for the mentions on the labels.
