Presenter Wilfred Genee was elected Dom Bontje 2017 with a majority of the votes.
Wilfred was surprised with the prize by the director of Bont voor Dieren and a film crew from Shownieuws. He accepted the award very sportingly and admitted that he had been stupid because he had not asked about the fur on the jacket. He promised Bont voor Dieren that he would never wear fur again and even asked how you can become an ambassador for the foundation.
After a neck and neck race, social influencer Lizzy van der Ligt finished in second place. Last year she was regularly seen wearing fox fur slippers. Princess Beatrix finished in third place. Beatrix was nominated because she often wears fox fur. The fourth and fifth place are respectively for rapper Ronnie Flex and stylist Bastiaan van Schaik, they also both wore a coat with a fur collar.
