Even in the summer we need a jacket in the Netherlands from time to time, or even most of the time. Our weather is not exactly ideal with rain, wind and even some cold days. A good excuse to buy a nice coat, in addition to the lovely, airy summer clothes. One brand we absolutely love is Parajumpers. The Parajumpers brand was born in Italy in 2006, thanks to the collaboration between Ape S.P.A. and designer Massimo Rossetti. The result is an extremely innovative outerwear collection with highly technological components, which are primarily designed to be functional.
The PJs – short for Parajumpers – are well suited to extreme weather and inspired by the men of an Alaska rescue team, who are deployed for extreme rescues in the wildest, most remote and dangerous corners of the world. The jackets are made from hardwearing nylon, and come with a removable quilted liner and a fur trimmed hood. The collar closes with a hook that is used with a parachute. The jackets are also very functional due to various (inner) pockets where accessories such as iPods, GPS devices, mobile phones, etc. can be stored. This functionality is hardly noticeable thanks to the high fashion content.
Despite the inspiration, the jackets have become a real fashion item in recent years. They are also very popular in the Netherlands. Who wouldn't want a nice jacket that is also rain and windproof? Moreover, Parajumpers also has leather jackets, trench coats, bomber jackets in the collection. And in addition to the color palette with dark colors such as black, beige, brown and gray, there are fresh summer colors such as pink, orange, yellow, white, red and blue.
