More than 80 percent of the Dutch know that the third Sunday in June is all about fathers. Especially families with young children find Father's Day a day to be celebrated. More than 30 percent of the respondents think it is nonsense to spoil fathers extra on this day.
In general, kids know pretty well what to please their father with. The majority of fathers receive something that the children have made at school or at the nursery (46 percent); logically these are often fathers with young children. But perfume or aftershave is also a popular gift for 36 percent of dads.
More than 90 percent of the Dutch indicate that the financial crisis has no influence on the expenditure on a Father's Day gift. 10 percent of male respondents will spend even more money on a gift for their father this year.
