The fried chicken giant and the famous sandal brand have released a stunning pair presented last February at New York Fashion Week.
Thing promised, thing due. Last February, the famous brand of sandals Crocs and the fast food chain KFC unveiled during New York Fashion Week a limited edition that was surprising to say the least:plastic sandals with a pattern (and smell) fried chicken . On sale this Tuesday, July 28, this improbable collection has fallen out of stock... barely 30 minutes after its launch .
As you can see below, the KFC stamped sandal is not really a model of discretion. Above a red and white sole, in the colors of fast food, sits a "fried chicken" print and even a fake embossed chicken sleeve. The icing on the cake:the hoof is flavored...with chicken .
Despite a relatively divisive aesthetic, the model was quick to make people happy. On sale for $60 , the sandals sold like hot cakes, and were already no longer available barely half an hour after their launch. What provoke the anger of many Internet users, who lamented not being able to afford the limited edition after having waited a long time in the virtual queue, and criticized the absence of pre-orders, which according to them would have allowed "buying robots" to snatch a good number of pairs.
The blow is all the harder for the disappointed, a KFC spokesperson told Business Insider that there were "no plans to produce more KFC x Crocs shoes" . But if you really want to treat yourself to the famous fried chicken sandals, they are already available on several online resale sites. On the other hand, you will have to pay at least 3 to 4 times their base price...
